“All the world’s a stage,
And all the homes are merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one house in his time plays many parts…”
(Humor me with my little rewrite of Shakespeare’s famous monologue)
I am now officially a certified home stager: Melissa Allen, EPS (Expert Psychological Stager™). This past week I attended a 3-day intense certification course by Nashville’s renowned The Decorologist. I took the class because as Nashville Realtors®, Jim and I recognize the incredible value in home staging. We love being able to share this knowledge and expertise with clients for a quick and profitable sale. Did you know that the Allen Team provides staging free of charge to our clients? Yep, we do ~because it works.
Here are my two favorite statistics on Why to Stage Before Selling (you can find many more stats at RESA if interested):
Staged homes sell in 1/3 of the time – and it costs less than an extra mortgage payment.
Sell for 6-17% more. Recoup many times your staging costs. And your Realtor® fees.
So now back to Shakespeare– a home, like man, goes through phases and stages as time passes. Your home during the listing period is really no longer your home. It is a house headed into the next act for the new players, putting its best foot forward for a quick “Exit… stage right.”
Would love to hear your thoughts. Can we “break a leg” together?
