Brentwood Tennessee is located about 17 minutes or 10 miles south of downtown Nashville along Interstate 65. It’s an affluent suburb of Nashville located in Williamson County and has a population of about 45,000 residents. Brentwood is steeped in rich history starting back in the 1860s when Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest letter column of men into a union controlled Brentwood but unfortunately suffered a significant loss for the federal and much of Brentwood was destroyed. It was until after the war nearly 100 years later in 1940 when Brentwood began to rebound. One by one plantation homes were settled, restored, and in 1969 Brentwood was incorporated as its own city. Interstate 65 was constructed through the area and marked the beginning of a residential and commercial growth having the convenience of Nashville just 15 minutes away.
Parks, Recs, and Historic Preservation
Brentwood Tennessee offers many pristine parks and beautiful hiking communities with 14 different parks in our area offering sports courts, playgrounds, covered picnic areas, hiking and biking trails and Ms. Peggy’s Bark Park. In addition to Parks and Recreation there are historical museums and preservations including the Cool Springs House which is available for meetings, seminars, weddings and retreats. This pristine home has been historically preserved and accommodates a variety of events and activities.
Brentwood Schools
Brentwood is home to six different elementary schools, three middle schools and two high schools and is served by the Williamson County School District. There are several private schools in Brentwood as well including the Brentwood Academy, Curry Ingram Academy, and Montessori Academy. This is just a small sampling of private schools but Brentwood’s public schools have a 5-star parent rating review. If you’re moving to Brentwood with your family it’s good to know that these public schools are highly regarded. Brentwood High School has consistently been one of the best rated of schools in the nation.
