First Impressions In Home Staging – Even More Important Than You Realize

March 31, 2017 By Melissa Allen

A huge shout out to my incredibly talented friend and colleague, Kristie Barnett, world-renowned Decorologist and her class of home stagers. They recently transformed our clients Brentwood home as we help them prepare for market. With her permission, I graciously share her blog post which touches on a very key point— first impressions:

Our Christmas Home Tour Before It’s Too Late

December 25, 2015 By Melissa Allen 3 Comments

Today begins the 12 days of Christmas, right? So we have until Epiphany on Jan 6 to enjoy our holiday decor. Yes! I truly love how our home feels during the Holidays. It just feels special — all decked out, joyful and inviting. And I’ve been meaning to post this since the beginning of December.

But I won’t lie it is always a little stressful Decking the Halls, my kids enjoy helping for about five minutes- so I am very grateful to know so many amazing decorator friends. The talented Susan Prespare helped me last year and again this year. She’s for hire and worth every penny so keep that in mind and I can hook you up. [Read more…]

Ho Ho Ho, Who Wouldn’t Stage?

December 16, 2015 By Melissa Allen 3 Comments

It’s the hustle and bustle holiday season, and last week was a busy one for the Allen Team. Our former and current clients received notice of a relocation and it was time to scurry and help make their dreams come true. These fine folks were making plans to move home to be near family and raise their sweet, precious daughter.

First call to was to The Decorologist to schedule our staging. Most of you know that we offer the trademarked Expert Psychological Staging services to all of our clients. Consider it our gift to you! It works every time! In this instance, we received an offer after the first showing ~ for over asking price.

It’s a Wonderful Life… [Read more…]

June 19, 2015 By Melissa Allen 2 Comments

How lucky am I? Last week I attended a sneak peek Garden Party and Preview tour of the Nashville Symphony Show House. Thank you Forest Home Media.

Wow, just wow! I want one just like it. It was beautiful and comfortable. Stunning, yet not ostentatious. Perfect comes to mind. Perfection compliments of Castle Homes, Wade Weissman Architecture, and a slew of other amazingly talented locals. [Read more…]

Doesn’t this make perfect sense? This is what ‘staging’ is really all about. Evoking a positive and connected feeling for potential buyers. Staging is both an art and a science: psychology. [Read more…]

December 19, 2014 By Melissa Allen 4 Comments

My daughter emphatically informs my husband a few Saturday’s ago that I have gone ‘craft crazy’ in reference to my Christmas experiments (out of the mouth of babes). Let me explain the series of events leading to this moment…  [Read more…]

Pretty Sells

October 1, 2014 By Melissa Allen Leave a Comment

I have learned a lot this year, actually I am always learning in this business. Rarely a dull moment. Something has really stuck with me though in this record year we are having. Pretty sells. And it kind of makes sense when you look at the consumer world… we buy pretty, right? Glamour, ritz, bells and whistles. Well, what does that have to do with houses?  [Read more…]
